SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD (Barry Manilow)

We had the right love
At the wrong time
Guess I always knew inside
I wouldn't have you for a long time

Those dreams of yours
Are shining on distant shores
And if they're calling you away
I have no right to make you stay
But somewhere down the road
Our roads are gonna cross again
It doesn't really matter when
But somewhere down the road
I know that heart of yours Will come to see
That you belong with me
Sometimes good-byes are not forever
It doesn't matter if you're gone
I still believe in us together
I understand more than you think I can
You have to go out on your own
So you can find your way back home
And somewhere down the road
Our roads are gonna cross again
It doesn't really matter when
But somewhere down the road
I know that heart of yours Will come to see
That you belong with me
Letting go is just another way to say
I'll always love you so
We had the right love At the wrong time
Maybe we've only just begun
Maybe the best is yet to come
'Cause
Somewhere down the road
Our roads are gonna cross again
It doesn't really matter when
But somewhere down the road
I know that heart of yours Will come to see
That you belong With me

Missing him

I checked someone's blog site last night and I was surprised to see a picture of my ex-boyfriend. He looks the same, still the good-looking guy I've met... But he looks formal with what he was wearing. I wasn't able to control myself so I copied the picture and saved it on my laptop.

Before sleeping, I was thinking of him... wondering what he's doing. I know he's happy. But I wonder whether he thinks of me, if he remembers me.

I miss him and I still love him... I want to hold him tightly and say everything that I feel and think. I want to tell him how I long for him... How incomplete my life is since he left...

I was so depressed last night. I flooded my bed with my tears. I miss him sooooooo much... I want him back... But what can I do? I'm just a girl whom he played and fooled... A girl he never loved....
I just finished reading “The Bridges of Madison County” by Robert James Waller. I liked the book and how the author narrated the story. It’s about true love between two people separated by time, distance, custom, commitment and responsibility. It’s about sacrificing one’s own happiness so as not to hurt others. It’s about learning to move on while holding on to what you feel.
I was planning to make a summary of it. But I’m just too tired to do that now. I still have to prepare for tomorrow. I will have a meeting with our Case Law Editor and Understudies. We have to work on the cases. I have to start reading the April cases. God, I’m really tired! I feel sooooooooooo exhausted!

Christ's ascension

As for the eleven disciples, they went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Jesus, they bowed before him, although some doubted. Then Jesus approached them and said, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples from all nations. Baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to fulfill all that I have commanded you. I am with you always until the end of this world.” (Mt. 28:16-20)

Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the above-given scripture, Jesus Christ, before ascending, met his disciples and assured them that he will always be with them until the end of time. Today’s gospel reminds us of Christ’s promise of love and guidance in our day to day endeavors.

“I am with you until the end of this world”. In this chaotic world, it is very difficult to believe and feel that God is with us. I know a lot of people are losing their faith and confidence in our Lord Jesus Christ because of various challenges and difficulties. If Christ is truly with us, why are there sufferings in this world? Isn’t it ironic that Christ told us that he’ll be with us yet when we look around, we see poverty and ordeal? Where is Christ then? Did he forget his promise when he ascended?

Jesus Christ has kept his promise. Our sufferings on earth are his instruments to show his undying and unending love. They are instruments of Christ to teach and to help us become better persons, better Christians.

We best acknowledge Christ’s importance in our lives when we are in despair. We pray a lot and we learn to entrust everything to him for we know that it is only him who can make things possible. If there are times that we think that Christ abandoned us, remember his promise. If God answers our prayers, it means we are meant for that. If not, God is telling us two things: it is not yet time and learn to WAIT.

Christ knows how to work in mysterious ways. Despite the turmoils present in this world, let us keep believing Christ’s words. As what Fr. Jerry Orbos said, “Whatever we are going through right now, please allow the Lord to whisper to you that He is with you, always. This means always, all the time, and whatever you are going through.”
Every Sunday, I always read the column of Fr. Jerry Orbos in the Philippine Daily Inquirer to gain some insights and realizations. This day, he discussed Christ’s ascension and its impact in our lives. Part of his discussion was the question “Why must there be goodbyes?” I tried to answer the question first but I cannot give an answer so I just continued reading his article. As an answer to the question, he said “Because of mission. In everything that happens, there is a reason, there is a mission. All goodbyes, whether to things or persons, are reasons and/or seasons for moving on. Goodbyes should lead to greater mission, not stagnation.”

He is right. Goodbyes are reasons and seasons for moving on. We cannot hold on to something or someone forever. We need to learn to let go and to continue living life. It is never easy to say goodbye. But there are reasons behind that and we need to accept that goodbyes are part of life. Whenever we experience goodbye, we should not think that it is the end of everything. It only marks a new beginning, a new life…

HOW DO I LOVE THEE?

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For the ends of Being an Ideal Grace.

I love thee to the level of everyday's

Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.

I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;

I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use

In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints,--

I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life!--

and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death.

~~Elizabeth Barrett Browning~~
I'm trying to finish a book right now. It's entitled "Not By Power or Wealth Alone" which was written by former Sen. Jovito Salonga. It's a nice book. Promise! Hope a lot of people can read it especially those who are in power. There are so many things to learn from it.
