Lately I've been winning battles left and right
But even winners can get wounded in the fight
People say that I'm amazing
I'm strong beyond my years
But they don't see inside of me
I'm hiding all the tears
Chorus:
They don't know that I come running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
(Look up for His smile)
'Coz deep inside this armor
The warrior is a child
(Aahhh)
Unafraid because His arrow is the best
But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest
People say that I'm amazing
I never face retreat, oh no
But they don't see the enemies
That lay me at His feet
Chorus:
They don't know that I come running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
(Look up for His smile)
'Coz deep inside this armor
The warrior is a child
(Aahhh)
They don't know that I come running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
(Look up for His smile)
'Coz deep inside this armor
The warrior is a child
(Aahhh)
life... life... life...
I have said in my previous blog that journeying life is never easy. Despite the uncertainties and difficulties that we are going through, we just have to trust the Lord. In every storm that we encounter, let us always be reminded that “God sends a rainbow after a rain.” Everything that is happening has its own purpose. We may find it too difficult to know what they mean but surely, we will find the answers as we journey. Happy journey!
Take Me Out Of The Dark
Just what is it in me?
Sometimes I just don't know
What keeps me in Your love,
Why you never let me go
And though you're in me now,
I fall and hurt you still
My Lord, please show me how
To know just how you feel
You have forgiven me
Too many times it seems
I feel I'm not what you might call
A worthy Christian after all
And though I love You so
Temptation finds its way to me
Teach me to trust in You
With all my heart
To lean not on my own understanding
I just forget
You won't give me what I can't bear
Take me out of the dark, my Lord
I don't wanna be there
You've never left my side
You gave Your hand to me to hold
Oh Jesus, I'm no longer in the cold
And yet, I leave You there
When I feel satisfied
I'd like to thank You every day
Not only when I feel that way
I've never known a Man
Who'd give His life for sinners like me
And yet, because He loves us so
He's promised us eternity
And we can have that promise
And be His if we have faith
And just believe
Teach us to trust in you
With all my heart
To lean not on my own understanding
We just forget
You won't give us what we can't bear
Take us out of the dark, My Lord
'Cause we don't want to be alone
Take me out of the dark, My Lord
We don't wanna be there, My Lord
Trust in You with all my heart
Lean not on my own understanding
I just forget
You won't give me what I can't bear
Take me out of the dark, My Lord
Cause we don't want to be alone
Take me out of the dark, My Lord
I don't want to be there

Life is a test...
Yesterday, I attended a post LTS meeting with Atty. Abad and other LTS participants. While waiting for Atty. Abad, Al and I went to the Dean’s Office to check if our professors have already submitted our grades. Kuya Ryan informed us that we already have our booklets in Criminal Law and Labor. At that moment, I just wanted to go out of the office. I was really nervous to see my grade in the finals. While checking our test booklets, we were surprised to see the grades. There were only two or three who passed and I failed! I got 74!
I know we all did our best. On my part, I have read two or three books just to be able to understand and master the subject. I spent so many sleepless nights in order to get a good grade. But my efforts are useless.
With what happened, I put the blame on our professor. I did my part! But he failed to do his responsibilities. He did not teach well. I didn’t learn anything from him. Everything that I know now was a product of my hard work. Things would have been different if he had been a good and responsible professor. As first year students, he shouldn’t have expected that we know everything, that it is easy for us to understand all the things we read and study. He should have guided us. He should have done his part.
I don’t know if I will fail Crim or not. Some of my friends and kaduwas (a term we use in referring a co-member in our org) told me to relax because I will pass. They told me that our professor will surely make some adjustments. Despite of these, I remain reluctant because of the uncertainties that surround me.
I’m not used to failing. I’m not used to getting low grades. But I guess I have to prepare myself for the worst thing that can happen. It hurts but I cannot do anything. I just have to accept it.
I will lose my scholarship. I will not anymore make it in the Dean’s List. My parents, especially my dad, will get disappointed of me. These are the consequences I have to face. What I’m going through right now is too difficult. I am in pain! I’m losing a lot!
My problem in school is just among the many problems I am facing right now. Sometimes I just want to give up and I question God why I have to be tested all the time. I’m already tired. But I just trust Him. I know God knows what is best for me. He wills these things to happen, let his will be done.
Journeying life is never easy. Most of the time, one has to experience downfalls to recognize his own strengths and weaknesses. Our life experiences are our best teachers. Though it is too difficult to live life, we just have to remember that the Lord has a better plan for all of us. Things happen for a reason.

I always hear people say that the youth are the hope of our land. As part of the youth, I take this as a challenge. I know that a lot of people still look up to us and believe that we can effect changes in our society. They place their trust in us hoping that one day, they will see a better society… a better country.
When I was in Baguio, I met two kids in a public market. They’re around 10 to 12 years old. As early as 5 in the morning, they are already making a living. They will only go home if they have enough money to buy food for their loved ones. As I look at them, I felt disappointed of myself, their parents and our government.
The whole night, I kept on thinking about those kids. I realized that I am so blessed that my parents can provide me with all the things I need and want. I am so lucky that I was able to study in one of the prestigious universities in the country. I am fortunate that I have enjoyed my childhood. Behind my realizations was a guilty feeling. I have almost everything I want but I find it difficult to be contented. I don’t feel contented with the simple things I have. I sometimes want to have more, to have the best. But those two kids, having enough makes them contented and happy. They find happiness in simple things… a thing I admired best!
Now, about their parents… Honestly, I felt too disappointed! Being a parent is always a choice. Once you decided to be one, you should be prepared with all the responsibilities it entails. One should be prepared to give his children decent living and quality education. Given these, I think that their parents failed to do their responsibilities. I AM SORRY TO SAY THESE WORDS! But that’s what I feel and think! As parents, they should have planned the future of their children. Poverty can never be an excuse for them to let their children work. If they cannot send their children in good schools, they should have at least sent them to public schools so that they will not grow illiterate. In that way, they will learn the basics. Their children have the right to enjoy their childhood. They also have the right to education and quality life. They should not deprive their children with their rights. They should learn how to be responsible parents!
What happened to me in Baguio gave me another reason to hate our government. It is a failing government! Our leaders have continuously failed to carry out their mandates. Our government has failed to effect concrete and realistic programs that could promote the welfare of the people especially the children. Education has been one of its least priorities.
Our government is busy solving problems on poverty, graft and corruption. But what are its plans for the youth?! What about education? I believe that our government has failed to realize that one of the best solutions to our problems is education. If the number of illiterates in our country grows, it will just worsen everything. If the youth, who are considered the future of our land, remain uneducated, they will never be able to change our society. Everything will just be mere illusions.
Our leaders should be more sensitive to the needs of the people. They were elected to promote and protect the welfare of Filipinos. They are in power not for them to work for their personal interests but to carry out their mandate.
We, the youth, can make our society a better place to live. We can still provide the next generation a better country. However, we cannot do it alone. We need the guidance, help and support of everyone especially the government.
The family is the basic unit of the society. It is the first teacher of the children. Whatever they see and experience in the family, they will carry it when they grow. I pray that every parent will serve as a role model to his children by being responsible enough to carry out his responsibilities.

unfulfilled promise
A year passed and he did not return. I have expected that! I knew well that night that his promise was something meant to be broken. I thought I have accepted that fact already. I thought I was too strong already to accept that he’s happy with his family. But I was wrong!
This morning, I woke up carrying a heavy heart after remembering his unfulfilled promise. It is very painful. But I have no choice but to ignore the pain and pretend as if I am not hurt. Funny! People see me as a strong person who seems to have no problems. But they do not know that inside me, I am deeply hurt and broken.
I miss him! I still love him! Those are what I feel. BUT I have to learn the art of letting go. I have to teach myself to forget and let go of whatever feelings I have for him. Everything is not fair for me. He has broken his promise. He took me for granted. He fooled me. I should not love him!
I know it will take time before I could finally master the art of letting go. I know I will still take a long journey before I could forget him. I know forgiveness will always be a quest for me. Despite of these, I remain hopeful that I can stand victorious against the pains and hurts I am now feeling. I know I have a big GOD who will never cease guiding me. He will accompany me towards forgiveness. He will help me clean my heart from hatred.
To my jerk, I know you’re happy now given the fact that your greatest prayer was answered. Though you’ve hurt me, I still pray that the good Lord will continue to guide and bless you. Good luck to your journey in the so-called life.
That’s all for now. I have to pack and prepare my things. I’ll have a 3-day vacation in Baguio. It’s time for me to unwind after a tiring semester and a painful year.
